Early learning comes Alive

The first Catholic early care and learning centre in SA is opening in January, signalling the beginning of a new era of service provision for the Catholic Church in South Australia.
Co-located with Holy Family Catholic School, Parafield Gardens, the Alive Catholic Early Learning Centre is part of a significant new Adelaide Archdiocese initiative which will see a number of centres established across Adelaide over the next few years.
Catholic Church Early Years (CCEY) Inc is a fully incorporated body of the Catholic Church Endowment Society.
Plans for two more Alive centres co-located with St Francis de Sales College in Mount Barker and with the new McAuley Community School (Hove), have also been announced.
Director of CCEY Neil McGoran said the Alive centres would provide high quality care and ‘prior to school’ education for children aged three to five.
“We believe that every child is of inestimable value and so every child, unique and precious, matters absolutely,” he said.
“Our role is to nurture their ‘aliveness’ to the world so that they can thrive and grow into the fullness of life.”
Dr McGoran said a central part of the Alive mantra would be forming partnerships with each family and each community.
Director of Alive (Parafield Gardens), Janine Griffin, said she was looking forward to working closely with the school community and excited by the possibilities this would bring for children and their families at this important time in their development.
