Learning Programs at Alive (Hove)

August 14th 2019

Construction of the new early centre, Alive (Hove) and McAuley Community School are well underway.

The centre will open in January 2020 and cater for the developmental needs of children from 6 months to preschool. The curriculum is child-centred and designed to support the holistic development of each learner.

Children enrolled in the programs 6 months to 18 months and 2 to 3 years have their own designated learning spaces inside and outside which actively support their developmental needs. Learning spaces for these children are spacious, developmentally appropriate and limited in numbers to promote a calm environment and strong sense of belonging.

In the 3 and 4 year old programs the learning program continues to be tailored to individual needs and actively supports children and families in the transition to school. Learning spaces are flexible, engaging and promote inquiry and collaboration.

At all stages of development in early learning children will experience different opportunities to extend their strengths, areas of interest and needs within an inclusive community.

We provide integrated learning opportunities for young learners to experiment, play, investigate, design, and create, as they build the learning dispositions of persistence, resilience, problem solving, creativity, collaboration and communication which will lay a strong foundation for their journey of lifelong learning.
