Here are some general questions that are commonly asked about Alive. 

We've answered some of the most common questions about Coronavirus (COVID-19) being asked within our communities on this page.

What is the daily fee and inclusions?

For the daily fee of your preferred Alive location, please contact info@alivecatholic.edu.au.

Can I access the Government Child Care Subsidy to help with fee payments?

Yes, eligible families will be able to access the Child Care Subsidy. Further information about the subsidy and eligibility can be found here.

If my child attends an Alive Centre, do they have to go to the co-located Catholic School?

No, our centres welcome all children and their families.

Do we have to be Catholic for our child to attend an Alive Centre?

No, you or your child do not have to be Catholic to attend the centre.

My child is still in nappies. Are they able to come to this Centre?

Yes, your child is welcome. Families will be asked to supply pull-ups for their child.

My child does not speak English yet, is that a problem?

No, we will support you and your child with communication.

Will Alive Centres be open all year round?

Our Centres open in early January each year, and are available to families throughout the year, including during the school term breaks, except for public holidays and an annual staff training day.  The Centres close pre-Christmas and the length of this closure will vary from year-to-year, depending on the days of the week the public holidays fall throughout this period. 

Families are not charged for any day that the centre is not open, including public holidays.

Will my child be able sleep during the day?

All children will be encouraged to rest and some children will sleep. Our Sleep, Rest and Relaxation for Children Policy will be available on enrolment.

My child has a food intolerance or allergy, can you accommodate this?

Yes. We have Nutrition, Food and Beverages Policy and Anaphylaxis Policy and procedures. On enrolment we will discuss your child’s requirements.

Will there be a Preschool (kindy) program for 4 year olds?

Yes, eligible preschool age children will access a preschool (kindy) program with a fully qualified teacher.

Will the children require a uniform?

Uniforms are being considered and enrolled families will be consulted about uniforms for children.
